Wide Variety of Themes available!

This post is the second in a series that introduces some great TypePad features and offers tips on finding help with TypePad in general.

Q: What can you tell us about yourself?
My name is Carla and I have been working for Six Apart in the Technical Services area for a few months. I've been a blogger for 5 years now and a user of Six Apart products for most of that time so I'm very excited to be working with TypePad now. I can be found at carla.typepad.com blogging about movies, music and everyday life and at Product Girl blogging about my favorite beauty products.
Q: What tip will you be talking about today and why did you pick this?
I will be talking about TypePad's many designed themes. I picked this because it's one of my favorite features in TypePad as well as the most visually exciting one. There are themes to suit practically every person. We have a whole range of themes available with just a few clicks, for the traveler, the foodie, the knitter and the minimalist... just to name a few.
Q: What are TypePad themes and how can I pick a different one?
TypePad themes are designs available to give your weblog a great look with ease. There's no need to figure out how to use graphic software or learn HTML, we’ve got a lot of options in many colors and styles that are ready and waiting to make your weblog look snazzy.
Thanks to our wonderful designers, we have a library jam-packed with theme goodness. You can choose from the looks in the Bold, Pale, Classic, and Cool Palettes, as well as a special interest section, which provides a grand total of 37 themes. There's a wealth of variety right there at your fingertips. We have something for everyone, including our Special Interest themes. If you're a food blogger, there's a theme with you in mind. If you're into travel or knitting, we have you covered as well. We even have something for those of you blogging about an upcoming wedding or the birth of a new baby!
You can change your theme by clicking on Edit Design from the Weblogs tab. When you click on Change Theme, you can select one of our Pre-defined Themes or start customizing your own theme. Once you select the Pre-defined Themes option, there is a drop-down box that lists the different groups of themes you can choose from. If you pick an option from that box, you can browse through the different themes in each group. When you choose a theme, you can always preview what your weblog will look like before you save any changes you have made. It's a great way to try any our of our themes without having to commit.
When you add in that you can have 9 layout possibilities which each theme, these themes become even more flexible. Since all our themes will work with every layout, you could have a different look for every day of the month if you wanted to. From the Artistic Layout to the Calendar and multi-column layouts, the themes all work well with each layout. You can change your layout from the Weblog > Design tab by clicking Change Layout. As with the themes, you can preview what your weblog will look like with it's new layout. Once you've saved your changes, you're good to go.
Our themes also extend to your About Page. You can customize your About Page to match your weblog's current theme. From the Control Panel, you can go to Profile then About Page and pick which weblog you want to match your About Page to.
I really like that TypePad has so many themes available to choose from, the variety is awesome. I can change my weblog whenever the mood strikes me and do it very easily too. You should try changing your weblog's theme today, it's so easy to do and fun to play around with.
