Schedule a Post
Posted by Mena Trott in How-To
TypePad allows you to schedule posts to be published to your weblog at a date and time in the future. Additionally, you can alter the “Posted on” date of any post to appear as if you had published it in the past.
To schedule a post for either the future or the past:
- Find the post that you wish to schedule. If you wish to schedule a new post, click on the “Post” sub-tab.
- On the post screen, under the “Posting Status” header select the “Publish on…” option.
- In the “Post Scheduling” window, enter the time and select the date on which you want your post to be published to your weblog.
- Press the “Schedule Post” button. You will see the date and time updated on the post screen to reflect the date and time you’ve chosen.
- Press the “Save” button to save the post.
If you’ve scheduled the post to be published in the future, it will be published at that date and time. Note: posts are published every 15 minutes, so if your post is scheduled to be published at 1:05 PM, for example, it will not actually appear on your site until 1:15 PM, but the date and time on the post will read 1:05 PM as you intended.
If you’ve scheduled the post to be published in the past, it will be published immediately, and the “Posted on” date on your weblog will reflect the date and time you selected.
