[MTOS-dev] Plugin Settings - display error message when information not saved into DB

Hi, I'm developing a plugin for MT 4.01 and I'm having this problem:

When saving Plugin Settings and the input data is not correct I don't want to store the information into database and also I want to display an error message that the information was not saved. How can I display an error message instead of the default message "                 Your plugin settings have been saved. " ? I'm using save_config function for checking the data submitted into Plugin Settings form.
