[MTOS-dev] Introduction, mod-perl

Hi All,

I am with a small web services company that has been seeking a CMS/
Asset Management System
to "wrap around" our products. We have a history of small
contributions to many perl projects.

Our requirements were perl and Postgres and an open source license. I
had to port from a proprietary system (Oracle)
once, I am not doing it again. We looked at Metadot but it has become
abandonware, I couldn't find any suitable
Catalyst based solutions, Live Journal is just plain ugly code, and
MTOS was just announced :)

We have successfully prototyped integration of our code as a plugin
using the CGI call method, and as a template tag
inserted into a page and/or entry.

We are a mod-perl shop, and we are/will look at this problem next.
Any information that has not already been communicated to
this list would be appreciated.

There has been recent discussion of of blog search engines, we
currently use the Swish-e engine, and are extremely happy with it.

We do not/will not use PHP, we prefer not to use JavaScript (though
that is a losing battle :) and we hack more ugly code to keep
MS browsers happy than we want to.

Is there any schedule yet for a formal stable or production release?

TIA
Dave
