I'm with you on this one. IMHO, a goal of MTOS as a project should be
to put (and get) as much from CPAN as possible.

I don't speak of TS since I despise that name so, but this has been a
big issue for me with DOD. On a few occasions I've found myself on
non-MT mailing lists where a database objects is being debated (Rose,
Class::DBI) its such a non-starter to say to seasoned Perl developers
"oh ignore what is in CPAN" and go to this subversion repository."
That is too much effort for them to even bother checking it out.
That's a shame because, from what I can tell, no one else is using
that system.
