Here's how:

On the main admin page, in the upper right, there's "System Overview".

Select "Blogs", then a blog' settings (right link), then "Publishing".
On that screen one can modify the URL and directory where the blog is
published. Requires a complete publish cycle.

I've now tried it (on the dashboard) on a different computer, and it
really adds value to the user experience. The technical problem(s)
remain, however.

I've now found out that I can assign a user to a blog which should
probably solve the problem. I'm not yet sure why I'm automatically
master of all blogs, or what exactly happens when I remove the
administrator from a particular blog.
