[MTOS-dev] Asset insertion oddity

I recently switched from MT-4.1rc2-en (Propack) to MTOS 4.15b1-en and
seemingly have lost the ability to use the search feature of asset
insertion. On entry edit/creation, clicking 'Insert Image' from the
WYSIWYG toolbar opens 'Insert Image' dialog -- that works fine. A list
of every image asset on my site is there (or rather the first 25 of
162) and I can select images from the list without any problems. If I
use the arrow links to navigate the list, I can eventually find what
I'm looking for on any given day, but the 'Search' box on this dialog
*always* returns 'No assets could be found.'

Without exception.

It doesn't matter what I search for, even if I use a word from an
image that I can clearly see on the list in the fist 25 images.
*Every* search returns no assets. I've verified this result by
executing the search through the location bar manually (GET vs POST):

As you can see my search term in this example is "heroes" which should
return a handful of image assets that do certainly exist, but are not
shown. It's even more odd because the search bar on the Manage Assets
page works just fine with this term and any other.

This functionality used to work under MT 4.1 but stopped under MTOS
4.15. I did this upgrade (if you could call it an upgrade) by moving
my cgi-bin out of the way and unarchivng 4.15 into a new cgi-bin, and
then running mt-upgrade.cgi. There were no errors and this is the only
significant problem I've had.

Is this a known problem going from 4.1 to MOTS 4.15? Is this something
I might be able to fix by doing a backup from within the MT admin
interface and then nuking the database for a rebuild?
