[MTOS-dev] TheSchwartz vs MT::TaskMgr

This is mainly a question for the MT team: Given the availability and
use of TheSchwartz in MT 4, why is MT::TaskMgr still used for some
tasks? And further does MT::TaskMgr still play a role in the future
of the app?
I'm wondering because Jesse and I were endeavoring to create a
pluggable framework for not only viewing/managing scheduled tasks (or
TheSchwartz jobs) from within the UI but also adding new tasks that
aren't currently supported by the app. In doing this, I saw that
certain vestiges remain using MT::TaskMgr and wondered if those were
going to be migrated to TheSchwartz as well but were not due to lack
of time or perhaps some other reason.
In looking for my answer, I also found the Fireball roadmap features
slated for Fireball which include, ironically, a Background Task
Manager which sounds remarkably similar. So, if I am to build this, I
might as well build it so that it's close to perfection for inclusion
into the app, no? Given that, it would be helpful to understand the
answers to the above.
Thanks much
