Right.  As you pointed out, several plugins, which facilitate
set_servers, set_debug, set_readonly, set_norehash,
set_compress_threshold, stats, and diconnect_all methods, may not be
compatible with this patch.

I haven't yet looked into Mark Carey's plugin supposed to use the
stats command, because some of his codes are open only to those who
have paid for the commercial license.  Probably, "memcached Stats" may
be a typical example of incompatible plugins with this patch, I think.
