[MTOS-dev] thoughts about packaging

So, it seems to me that it would be great if MTOS could be installed by
package managers.  Debian is a good start.  It would be nice to see one for
mac ports also as well as Red Hat and ubuntu.

The question in my mind is how such a beast would work.  If MTOS is supposed
to be the foundation on which all the rest is built, does it make sense to
have something like a base MTOS package and then add-on packages for things
like enterprise pack etc. that would then have MTOS base as a dependency?
Otherwise, you have this idea that there are multiple versions of MT, sort
of like the 5 flavors of vista, which I don't think there are.
