I'm Bud Gibson, publisher of MichiganInnovators.org, and a professor at
Eastern Michigan University. I think I'm mainly here to lurk for the
moment. I've been an active contributor on the Pronet list, recently with
the hope that MTOS would come sooner rather than later.

My concrete plans for MTOS are to use it as the platform for
MichiganInnovators.org. MichiganInnovators.org is a site for the innovation
community in Southeast Michigan. Currently, our main value-add currently is
to act as a showcase for select innovators and as a bridge between the
academic and business communities in our region. Our assets consist of a
video podcast site with research and teaching notes.

Some of MichiganInnovators needs that might be filled by MTOS and other OSS
tools are as follows:

   - We need media plugins and template sets for podcasting.
   - We need aggregation mechanisms.
   - We need an easy way for non-technical people to write posts that
   produce semantic markup.
   - We need widgets that people can put on their blogs to highlight our
   content.

In the long-run, I'd like to build a community around this site and a
repeatable process that can be exported to other communities. OSS is
important to us because we want an unencumbered technology infrastructure
that people can contribute to and use.
