There are two options for using Movable Type in other languages.

Official Versions

Official versions of Movable Type are currently available from our site in the following languages: English, French, German, Spanish, and Dutch. (Japanese is available through our subsidiary, Six Apart KK.)

Each international version has its own licensing, sales and support area, and these are linked from the "International Movable Type Releases" banner on the Movable Type home page.

These versions are not provided as free language packs; they are separate licensed versions of the software, created for our international users whose primary language is not English.

If you purchased an English version license prior to December 22, 2004, but now would like to receive your updates and accompanying support in another language, please open a new help ticket to make the request to have your portal switched.

If you wish to continue using your English license and support, but also want to use another language, you will need to either purchase the appropriate additional license in that language, or use one of the unofficial language packs.

Unofficial language packs are written by volunteers, and may or may not be fully compatible with the latest version of Movable Type, depending on how frequently the responsible author(s) provide updates.
