A: Template Tag Reference (Movable Type Documentation)

This section of the appendix details all Movable Type tags that can be used in your templates to publish content from your weblogs and system. See the relevant section of Chapter 5.3 in the User and Administration Manual entitled "Movable Type Template Tags". You can download the User and Administration Manual here.

If you are trying to find a particular tag, you can:

Click on the category from the main page of this section
Use the search box on the top of every page of the user manual blog and the knowledge base
Use your browser's "Find" feature (Ctrl- or Command-f) on the Table of Contents
Using Arvind Satyanarayan's excellent MT Template Tag Reference Bookmarklet
Use the template tag shortcut URL: http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype/docs/MTTAGNAME. The tag name search is case insensitive so, for example, mtentrytitle will work just as well as MTEntryTitle.

If you find yourself using the template tag shortcut URL often and you are using Firefox, you can set up a Quick Search bookmark to it. To do so:

Go to the menu item Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks...
Create a new bookmark with the following information
- Name: MT Tag Reference
- Location: http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype/docs/mt%s
- Keyword: mt
- Description: MT tag reference search.
Type in your address bar (without the quotes): mt entrytitle

When you do this, the page for MTEntryTitle will be displayed.
