We recommend downloading the manuals to your computer and opening them locally. To do so, right click one of the links above and choose Save Target As or Save Link As from the pop-up menu. In the Save As dialog box, select a location on your hard drive, and then click Save.

  • Configuration Directives
    The configuration file (mt-config.cgi) controls every important aspect of the system's operation. This is done through the use of configuration directives detailed herein.

  • Template Tag Reference
    Template tags allow you to select and customize the blog-and system-related data you'd like to include on your published blog pages.

  • Global Filters
    Global filter attributes can be applied to nearly any template tag in order to manipulate its output.

  • Date Formats
    All date-related template tags (MTDate, MTEntryDate, etc) can be formatted for output by use of the format attribute and the date format specifiers.

  • Archive File Path Specifiers
    While most common URL schemes are provided for easy selection within the Movable Type publishing settings, further customization can be done through the use of shortcut Archive File Path specifiers.

  • Import format
    If you are migrating your blog from blogging software other than Movable Type or Movable Type Enterprise, the Import format will help you create your import data file.

  • Contextual-help
    Contextual help links are provided throughout the Movable Type administrative interface to give more information about each field and control.
