The final launch
This is an archived entry from the Movable Type 3.2 beta test.
Entries from the current beta release (v3.3) can be found here.
Well, we're hoping to have a go/no-go decision late this afternoon about the possible launch of Movable Type 3.2 tomorrow. We've been carefully poring over bug reports and corresponding with the submitters and have fixed the few important bugs which have come in since beta-4. You can, of course, find the latest in the nightly builds posted on the left sidebar of this page. At this point, they are as stable as a beta build if not more.
So far, things are looking pretty good. There were comparitively very few bugs in beta-4, although a handful were important enough to get fixed before launch. So far, we don't believe that the fixes for any of these bugs was serious enough to warrant another beta release.
This is always a tricky call. We could go on forever releasing betas, each time finding an important bug which necessitates a change to the code and another release. We feel, however, at this point, that it's time for Movable Type 3.2 to be born and available to everyone.
I encourage everyone to give the latest nightly build a spin and let us know immediately if you encounter any problems. Time is absolutely of the essence here. We've got about eight hours left to make the decision and we want to make the right one.

Also, please keep support questions confined to this thread. It makes it easier for everyone to find answers to questions, including, I'm sure, the one your asked. Thanks.

I'm really looking forward to the final release (esp. so that staggernation can finish up the new extrafields plugin/hack for 3.2)

Did you test it with Perl 5.00503 ? Will you support this Perl version (it's the standard for some poor hostings) ? My try was negative (500 error on mt.cgi).
Perl 5.00503 http://lcg.net/mt/mt.cgi Perl version: 5.8.5 http://textdrive.embruns.net/mt/mt.cgi

We have tested fully with 5.00503 and many other perl versions. If you have problems, you may consider posting them to the user support thread linked to a few comments ago.

Be patient... For me it is bettter to wait - even so I am very excited - instead of using a buggy tool!
