FastCGI Benchmarks for Movable Type
We here at Six Apart have been advocating and encouraging users to run Movable Type under FastCGI ever since our own personal experiences showed how much faster Movable Type becomes when run within a persistent application server environment. The practice has been widely adopted by businesses and it is the #1 recommendation on the Movable Type Performance Tuning wiki page. However, while the performance gains have been undeniable, they have never been quatified.
Until recently that is. Jay Allen recently conducted his own benchmarking tests* and the results are just what we expected, and at the same time surprising. A 15-fold increase in performance is pretty incredible.
| Description | Time | # of Requests | Requests/Sec |
