Six Apart News & Events

Look! Did you hear something?

For several months now we have been conducting bi-weekly conference calls with ProNet members (and anyone else who wants to listen in) in which we discuss a number of different topics revolving around Six Apart and professional blogging. What surprised me the most about these phone calls were the shear number of people who expressed interest in joining in - especially from Asia and Europe (Six Apart has offices in Tokyo and Paris believe it or not). But as you might imagine, trying to find a time for the call that was convenient for everyone was impossible. People then began asking if we could record the phone call so that more could participate and hear what was being discussed. And that's exactly what we did.

This is not our first podcast - Michael Sippey, the General Manager of TypePad, has been conducting podcasts for months now in a series with bloggers turned author. He has interviewed Chris Andersen - author of The Long Tail, Seth Godin - author of Small is the New Big, Shari Caudron - author of Who Are You People, a Personal Journey into the Heart of Fanatical Passion in America and Debbie Weil - author of The Corporate Blogging Book. And the series is not over.

But this is our first ProNet podcast, and that I think, deserves some fan fare.

I will be honest, we struggled with the technology a bit in this podcast. Typically our phone calls are much more interactive, but to record this call we conducted a SkypeCast which made it difficult for more than one person to have their microphone on at a time. The result - a whole lotta me talking - which if you have ever heard my voice... in any event, during the call we discussed the latest in product news from LiveJournal, Typepad, Movable Type and Vox; Movable Type Enterprise 1.5; and Apperceptive's Plugin Pack.

To listen, you can download the podcast directly, listen to it on Vox, or listen and subscribe to the series on Odeo.
