Etech, as expected, was chock-full of ideas and opportunities to discuss what we're all working on with all sorts of interesting people. For us, one of the highlights was getting to speak briefly with Jeff Bezos and giving him a little bit of information about Six Apart and TypePad.
Given the rare opportunity to be able to speak with Bezos, I made sure to throw my usual self-effacing demeanor out the window and pitch the idea of TrackBack-enabling Amazon's Reviews to work with tools that support the protocol. He seemed interested and even amenable to the idea and Tim O'Reilly encouraged me to blog this conversation. Regardless of the outcome, it's nice enough to see that even the biggest players online have enough respect for weblogs to at least consider the idea.
