Six Apart, the creator of award-winning blogging software and services Movable Type, TypePad and Vox, is looking for a Regional Sales Director in Media to join its growing media division. Six Apart is looking for individuals with a proven track record of driving advertising revenue and the ability to do so in new and exciting ways. This individual will report to the National Sales Director and will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying and closing display advertising campaigns and integrated custom media solutions
Responsibilities
- Lead, initiate and manage all facets of regional sales process
- Manage and grow a regional team which includes sellers and an account coordinator.
- Work closely with National Sales Director to determine the sales strategy for the region in order to reach company goals
- Responsible for a regional revenue target for the team (quarterly and annual)
- Identify new revenue opportunities in order to grow the business and drive incremental revenue.
- Work with existing and prospective clients to determine their business needs and formulate the appropriate advertising solution
- Develop and cultivate deep relationships with agencies and direct advertisers through sales calls, meetings and other communications
- Create comprehensive advertising proposals and sales presentations that address campaign objectives and showcase the company's offerings
- Proactively prospect, qualify, grow, and maintain a regional territory account list
- Provide forecasting and reporting to National Sales Director
- Identify and understand trends within client markets and industries
- Help establish the Six Apart brand and story with advertisers
Requirements
- Relationships with budget decision-makers at advertising agencies
- Proven track record driving advertising revenue in online/social media
- Demonstrated track record of managing negotiations to successful closure
- 5+ years experience in a sales or media/agency environment with 2+ years managing a team
- Strong communication skills, including presentation, phone and e-mail
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Blogging or social media knowledge is required
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Understanding of Salesforce is a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary
- Bachelor's degree preferred
