Six Apart, the creator of award-winning blogging software and services Movable Type, TypePad and Vox, is looking for a Director of East Coast Sales for Movable Type. Movable Type is the market leader in social media software for businesses. The Director of Sales is responsible for software and professional service sales on the East Coast of North America, with a primary focus on top media companies and interactive marketers. The Director of Sales for the East Coast will play a critical role in managing and growing Six Apart's New York office. Existing Movable Type customers include CondeNast, TBWA Worldwide, NBC Universal and Nike. This position is located in New York.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, develop new opportunities and close five to six figure sales in target markets;
• Work closely with the Six Apart Services team to propose software and services solutions that meet targets' specific requirements;
• Work with VP to identify strategies and tactics to successfully achieve target sales;
• Coordinate and liaise with EMEA and Japan offices on sales efforts and strategy;
• Establish new client relationships and expand existing ones
• Drive sales team to achieve stated goals and quotas.
• Manage pipeline and sales processes
• Establish strategic relations with resellers, hosting companies, agencies and consultancies

Qualifications

• 4 years plus in software and services sales
• Experience selling software and technology products and services
• Track record of meeting and exceeding quotas
• Experience selling into media companies, brand marketers and consultancies a plus
• Knowledge of current social media and Web 2.0 tools
• Understanding of software development, web applications and IT infrastructure
• Experience with content management systems a plus
• Must possess strong leadership, motivational, and presentation skills
